My favorite job was my college's child development lab school. I was the center's music teacher and set up my classroom outside on the big covered porch of our playground. Our favorite song was "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid. The theme I planned this song under was The Wonder of Humanity. We would sing and act it out. The children especially loved turning from mer-people to humans on Water Fridays as they splashed & make believed.
Recently Liz and I have been reveling over the revival of the musical Crazy For You. I love the voice and emotion of Polly in "Embraceable You". Liz decided to do some research and found out that Jodi Benson is the singer. And, guess what, she is also the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid. I knew that there was a reason she was one of my favorite princesses. As Ariel, she makes her voice lighter and as Polly there is more body.
She is my new hero and vocal inspiration! ~ Bon
